Angulus mandibulae: The encyclopedia about beauty

Angulus mandibulae is the Latin term for mandibular angle. The angle of the lower jaw is part of the so-called chin-jaw contour, also called “jawline”.

The mandibular angle is a crucial landmark of the chin-jaw contour. The mandibular angle results from the intersection angle between the lower edge of the mandibular body and the posterior edge of the mandibular branch. This angle is approximately 120 to 125 degrees; usually three to five degrees more for women than for men. A clearly contoured jawline gives a younger look.
