Angulus mandibulae
Angulus mandibulae is the Latin term for mandibular angle. The lower jaw angle is part of the so-called chin-jaw contour, also known as the “jawline”.
The lower jaw angle is a decisive landmark of the chin-jaw contour. The mandibular angle results from the intersection angle between the lower edge of the mandibular body and the posterior edge of the mandibular branch. This angle is approximately 120 to 125 degrees; usually three to five degrees more in women than in men. A clearly contoured jawline gives a younger look.
