Arnica
Arnica montana is a medicinal plant from the Asteraceae family. Arnica flowers from July to August in the high mountains of Europe, northern Asia, Siberia and America. The flowers of the plant have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-rheumatic and analgesic properties.
Scientific proof
Scientific studies have not shown any improvement in pain, swelling and bruising when taking Arnica (Brito N, et al., 2014, J Musculoskelet Pain.). After eyelid correction, no effect could be demonstrated in comparison with a placebo. Arnica should not be taken before an operation, as Arnica thins the blood and increases the risk of secondary bleeding.
