ERAS patient-reported outcomes
The study was conducted by Ana Cristina Seabra Robalo Gomes Jorge and her team at the Department of General, Visceral, Vascular and Pediatric Surgery, University Hospital of Saarland, and published in the Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. The study examined the benefits of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathways for aesthetic breast surgery. It analyzed patients’ epidemiologic data, expectations, and recovery using standardized self-assessment questionnaires. The results show that ERAS pathways can lead to faster recovery and higher patient satisfaction. In particular, reductions in postoperative pain and nausea and shorter hospital stays are important benefits. The study highlights the importance of ERAS pathways for aesthetic breast surgery and may serve as a valuable source of information for plastic and aesthetic surgeons. |
