What is Radiesse®?
Radiesse® is a filler that is used to inject wrinkles. The active ingredient – calcium hydroxyapatite – is based on calcium and phosphate. It is injected under the skin in gel form and is used to fill wrinkles and tighten facial contours, among other things. The result: significantly firmer and more elastic skin.
Compared to hyaluronic acid, Radiesse® is primarily used for more severe volume deficits and deeper wrinkles, while hyaluronic acid is the filler of choice for lighter lines. However, the two fillers can also be combined with each other. A personal consultation is important to find the optimal solution.

Radiesse® treatment procedure
Advice and preparation
Each of our treatments begins with a detailed consultation. During this appointment, we take plenty of time to discuss your needs and wishes. We look at whether the Radiesse® treatment is the right option for you and inform you about the exact procedure and possible risks.
We advise you to refrain from taking blood-thinning medication approximately 2 weeks before your appointment. You will receive an anesthetic cream from us, which you should apply to the treatment area at least one hour before the treatment. If you are having your face treated, please come without make-up.
Treatment
The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis and takes around 30 minutes, depending on the treatment area. We disinfect the area to be treated and inject the active ingredient into the target area using a blunt cannula. Depending on the treatment objective, several sessions may be required to achieve the desired result.
After the treatment
After the procedure, you can leave our practice and go about your daily routine. There may be slight redness and swelling; these symptoms usually subside on their own after a short time. Immediately after the treatment, the area can be cooled slightly to minimize swelling. You should avoid sport, sauna and intensive sun exposure for 24 hours.
What results can you expect?
A major advantage of Radiesse® is the combination of a visible immediate effect and a long-lasting effect. The first results are visible immediately after the treatment. In the long term, your skin will become firmer and more elastic over the coming weeks and months thanks to the stimulated collagen formation.
