American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) is the largest North American organization specializing in aesthetic surgery. The organization sets global standards for training and research in the field of aesthetic surgery. ASAPS membership is linked to strict requirements. Prospective members must distinguish themselves nationally and internationally through special commitment in the field of aesthetic surgery. Guarantors are required and the number of operations is monitored.

PD Dr. Stahl was awarded an ASAPS scholarship as an exclusive privilege following a rigorous selection process in 2012. In 2015, PD Dr. Stahl was accepted as a member of ASAPS.

Affiliation to the university teaching staff

PD Dr. Stahl sees teaching primarily as an opportunity for productive exchange between questioning students and experienced lecturers. This exchange leads to a continuous updating of the state of knowledge and at the same time promotes innovative research initiatives. As plastic surgery is not defined by specific organ systems or diseases, the specialty is subject to constant change due to competitive pressure from other specialist areas. Teaching and science are the driving force behind innovation and therefore ensure the future viability of the field.

Teaching is an ongoing and integral part of PD Dr. Stahl’s professional career. This includes the training and examination of students and doctoral candidates at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, but also the training of young colleagues. In 2010, PD Dr. Stahl was awarded the certificate of the medical faculty of the University of Tübingen for outstanding teaching. His responsibilities also included teaching at the Clinic for Hand, Plastic, Reconstructive and Burn Surgery at Tübingen University Hospital. In 2014, PD Dr. Stahl was awarded the certificate for university didactics in medicine by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts. From 2016 to 2018, he also taught at the University of Bonn.
